Bring coastal charm and modern elegance into your space with the Dotterel bud vase. The glass vessel is encased in a graceful spiral of stainless steel so it appears to float above a base of naturally weathered driftwood and sea-tumbled brick. Every element is meticulously composed and shaped by hand, making each vase a unique creation.

Features

  • The vessel can be removed by rotating and lifting from the spiral
  • Versatile, suitable for fresh flowers & foliage, dried flowers and seedheads, or rooting cuttings
  • Handmade composition (except glass vessel) with sustainable materials
  • One-of-a-kind design combining found driftwood and sea-smoothed brick
  • Compact size ideal for shelves, desks, or mantel displays.
  • Perfect for adding Wabi Sabi style to your interior décor.

Each Dotterel vase will allow you to showcase the beauty of nature within your home. It will enable your creativity and imagination to notice things while walking or in your garden that had previously seemed insignificant and, can now, be elevated so their simplicity and clarity of line and form can be seen. The vase can convey the seasons too: fresh small posies of flowers, perhaps dried twisty stems, lichen-covered twigs with seedheads, then used to root cuttings, with a clear view of those growing, branching roots.

I enjoy working out how to create balance, while making a pleasing composition with the bricks and driftwood which have been tumbled in the sea and taken their own form. May having a Dotterel vase encourage your creative collecting as you take a walk outside.

A single vase looks elegant, while a group has even greater impact! There is a 10% price reduction if you purchase more than one.

Glass vessel height 9 cm x 2.2 cm diametre.  Height is 28.5 cm, width 13 cm and depth 6 cm. The weight is 207g.

Why Dotterel? I gave each the name of a bird on the British Trust for Ornithology red list as the species is globally threatened. This reflects my concern about species decline due to environmental change.
