A Trio of Kittiwake suspended vases

The Trio of Kittiwake suspended vases have frames made with aluminium and a printed nylon detail.   Each frame has a diametre of 3.8 cm with a stainless steel suspension handle attached and holds a large glass test-tube.  The surfaces of the frames have a satin scratch-brushed finish.  They hang from stainless steel branches and will move in air-currents.  A 1 metre fine stainless steel wirerope is provided.

The Kittiwake vases can hold single stem flowers or a small bouquet of flowers.  They can be used to root cuttings or simply to hold beautiful dried seedheads.

Debit/credit card and PayPal payments are accepted.  Post and packaging included.

The Kittiwake vase has arisen as a delightful means to reduce waste still further.  I cut out the middle section of the discarded CDs and circles of aluminium, when making the frames for the paper-pulp vessels.  With two further cuts, this will hold the large glass test-tube.  This has become the Kittiwake vase.  The central glass vessel measures 2.7 mm outer diametre and 15 cm length.  Each vase weighs no more than 200g.

This trio of Kittiwake vases have frames made with aluminium.  This aluminium remains from my jewellery-making years in the '90s.  I made the formers from aluminium to shape the nylon three-dimensionally.  I use small pieces of nylon with printed text as "washers" underneath the stainless steel suspension handles to protect the aluminium.  These also remain from jewellery-making.

A fine stainless steel wirerope with a hook at each end is included.  This is attached to the loop of the top stainless steel branch and will hang from a ceiling hook.  It can also be hung from a curtain pole.

If you are hanging from a curtain pole, please use the contact form to let me know, I will include a larger hook for this, instead of a smaller size.  Also let me know if you require a different length of stainless steel wirerope, I can provide a shorter section.  The hooks are made from the offcuts of the stainless steel branches of the mobile sculptures.

An oak wall-mount can be used to display the colony of Kittiwake vases as shown in one of the photographs.  The oak wall-mount has a curved stainless steel rod.  Here is a link to the oak wall-mount page https://balanced-earth.co.uk/oak-and-stainless-steel-wall-mount/
